Materials & Finish
The Platner Armchair is composed of vertical nickel-plated steel rods, welded to circular horizontal frames, forming a sculptural base and seat structure. The wire frame is polished and treated for corrosion resistance. Upholstery is available in premium fabric or leather, with high-density foam cushions for both seat and backrest. The combination of metallic brilliance and soft upholstery defines the chair’s iconic presence.
The chair provides ergonomic support through its curved backrest and generously padded seat cushion. The open wire structure allows air circulation, while the upholstered elements offer softness and resilience. Despite its sculptural form, the Platner Armchair is practical for dining, lounge, or office settings. Its balance of comfort, durability, and artistry makes it both a functional seat and a design statement.
Comfort & Functionality
Each chair is handcrafted with dozens of steel rods, precisely welded to create strength while maintaining visual lightness. The circular base distributes weight evenly, ensuring stability without excess bulk. The seat and back cushions are foam-padded and hand-stitched, then mounted directly onto the frame with hidden fastenings. The upholstery is removable for maintenance, while the frame retains its seamless, continuous form.
