Materials & Finish
This version of the Wagenfeld Lamp features a circular metal base with a nickel-plated finish, matching the stem and fittings for a unified metallic appearance. The lampshade is a hand-blown opal glass sphere, ensuring soft, evenly diffused light. The combination of metal and glass highlights Bauhaus values of functionality and material precision.
Providing warm, glare-free illumination, the lamp is ideal for desks, sideboards, or bedside use. Its compact design and metallic base create a more solid, weighted presence compared to the glass-base version. Easy to maintain and durable, the Wagenfeld Lamp with metal base offers timeless modernist design for both private and professional interiors.
Comfort & Functionality
The flat metal base is precision-machined from steel and nickel-plated for durability and corrosion resistance. The metal stem extends directly from the base and secures the electrical fitting and opal glass shade. Concealed fasteners and seamless joins preserve the lamp’s minimalist form. The hand-blown opal glass shade guarantees uniform light diffusion and long-term resilience.

Wilhem Wagenfeld
Wilhelm Wagenfeld (1900–1990) was a German industrial designer closely associated with the Bauhaus movement. Trained initially as a silversmith, he studied at the Bauhaus in Weimar under László Moholy-Nagy and became renowned for combining artistic creativity with industrial production. His most famous creation, the 1924 Bauhaus lamp (also known as the Wagenfeld table lamp), exemplified functional clarity, modern materials, and timeless elegance. Wagenfeld later worked in glass and metal design for major manufacturers, promoting accessible, well-crafted products for everyday life. His designs embody the Bauhaus principle of uniting art and industry, establishing Wagenfeld as a pioneer of modern product design.
